This is no time for ease and comfort. It is time to dare and endure. – Winston Churchill • • • I shared something personal last night to 2,400+ people that no one but my close family and all but two close friends knew about. I’m sick of judgements from others. We all need a hot meal, a roof over our heads, a toilet, and a loving family or person around us. It doesn’t matter where you’re from, what you do, how many “followers” you do or don’t have, what your religion, age, gender, or political view is: you’re still just a human with the same, basic human needs as any other living on this earth today. You struggle, like I, with very tough things. Life is not cake, and we’re not here for long. I don’t tolerate hate here. But if you do hate me, wonderful, good thing you’re free to move on to someone you DO like. If you don’t hate me, well that’s great, I hope you’re learning something good through viewing tidbits of my life and thoughts on here. But life is too short to judge or criticize others based on who you “think” they are, what they’ve “done” in the past or what they anticipate on “doing” in the future. Let it go and let it be. We need to spend more energy, devote more energy to ourselves and our own well being, our own futures, than worrying and hating others who we don’t know. 7 billion people exist on this planet. Seven billion. Find ONE who inspires you, and learn from them. Doesn’t have to be me, but if it’s not, I don’t care to know. We’re all the same living beings with just different daily lives and loving circumstances. Our makeup is the same though. Let’s just understand that, and hope that it brings us all to a better place 🙏🏽🏔

Yesterday was #NationalAviationDay and I had to reflect on all of the bold women throughout history who have paved the way for us modern day female explorers. Amelia Earhart and her story has always been an inspiring one to me, for so many reasons. Yesterday was also a reality check for me to get on that PPL 🛩! It’s been a goal for years now and I keep putting it off, mostly because it’s costly and most definitely a luxury to have rather than necessity. Also because things like my tiny home, non profit, book and other important works have had to come first. I’m not rich, and find making financial sacrifices to be challenging, especially without knowing how much time I have left to play with ⏳. That’s always a challenge, but I like to think of this borrowed time as fuel to continue to push my boundaries and limits in order to succeed while there’s still a chance 💫. To be able to race an Ironman is also a luxury though, costly in both time and $, but it, like flying, feeds my purpose and encourages a driven and euphoric mindset 🧠. After IRONMAN Florida, my focus will be on obtaining my PPL (among other secrets in store 😉). I’ve always wanted to pilot a Cessna despite my fear of flying (one of the reasons I considered not leaving on my Expedition). Life’s about overcoming fear, and overcoming my fear involved flying over 255 times in 18 months. But even before that, I’ll never forget the first time I flew co-pilot in a run down Cessna over the Ecuadorian Amazon, with nothing but vast jungle below. We took off on a dirt tarmac with kids and chickens running all over it. Typical in local villages deep within the Amazon. Though there is still a little bit of fear, and that fear, I choose to utilize as embers to fuel my inner fire. But I now feel free in the skies and am ready to tackle my next adventure 👩🏼‍✈️. Gotta get ready for @virgingalactic’s trip to space in 2 years! Freaking out at 361,000ft would be a real bummer 😉🚀

My life is not an apology, but a life. It is for itself and not for a spectacle. I much prefer that it should be of a lower strain, so it be genuine and equal, than that it should be glittering and unsteady. I wish it to be sound and sweet, and not to need diet and bleeding. My life should be unique; it should be an alms, a battle, a conquest, a medicine. 🧝🏼‍♀️ – Ralph Waldo Emerson • • • I’ve spent the greater part of my life observing and thinking about it all, thinking about the negative things that occur rather than allowing myself to succumb to it all with a positive mindset. Ever since I was a kid I became scarred by the scary stories in the media, then my real life situations of people cheating, killing, getting sick and dying. I always thought; “how can I be fully happy with a life that provides so much hardship and struggle?”. I don’t think it’s about finding happiness though, but rather, filling life with the things that make you question everything, provide meaning, make it worthy enough to live; like helping others and becoming the God, the dictator of your own life 💪🏽. I consider myself very strange and different, which alludes to the desire to not want more than a friend or two in my life at any given time, and instead, to seek rapture in my thoughts and nature rather than in crowds and cities. My last boyfriend was 9 years ago, the last concert I went to was 4 years ago and the last party I went to was during my Expedition, over 2 years ago. I don’t live according to normal standards, especially for my age. If I wanted these things in my life, I would have them, but I don’t. What each one of us does with our time here on earth is our own choice, and there’s no right or wrong way to do it. And I think that for some of us, gratification lies in human connection mostly with people, and for others, with oneself; some, with animals, or a material thing. I think it’s difficult to find a balance, and I don’t think a person really needs to. To flourish and succeed in their own life is something that no one can tell you how to do. Absolutely no one in this life, including yourself, knows your own personal outcome. Best to find your funk and go with it 👣

Hey, Want to travel? You can do it. Save a bit of money. Pick a place on a map. Book a one-way ticket (expect plans to change once there). Say your goodbyes. Put your earbuds in. And get ready for the time of your life. 🚀 Journal. Set your mini tripod up to get pics of yourself. Ask a stranger their story. Then share it through a photo of or with them. Take videos. Post pictures and videos of your face, talking… share YOUR story. Take a random trip to a different country while on your trip. Come home. Own your story. Share it with others, and keep bits to yourself, locked up with a key to share with a person at some point in your life when you feel that moment is right. 🔐 Want to do a race? Be fit? Stay motivated? Grab a pair of running shoes. Plug your earphones in. And go for a 30-60 minute walk. Every single morning. Go to bed 30 minutes earlier. Phone down. Sleep tea. Hot bath. Read a book. Wake up 30 minutes earlier every week. Get your body moving. Without a gym, do at home HIIT for 10-15 minutes; burpees, push ups, triceps dips, jumping jacks, wine bottle bicep curls, lunges, jump rope, jump squats. Buy a secondhand bike and invest in a good helmet. Ride 20-45 minutes a couple days a week. Get rid of the junk in your pantry and freezer. Go to your local farmers market. Veggies are cheaper than packaged foods. Make ⏱ for more veggies. Consume more local meats/fish. Go on Pinterest, Instagram or YouTube for healthy recipe inspiration. Go outside. Put your earbuds in. Jog for 10 minutes and then 15 minutes of HIIT in the park. Not confident with your swim? Watch @globaltriathlonnetwork’s swim tips on YouTube. Invest in your local aquatics center. Start with the slow lane. Start with 10 minutes. Meet a buddy at the same level. Improve together. Hone in on your stroke. Join an open water swim with others and kayakers to watch you. Film your stroke. Film your run. Film your bike. Film your strengthening and lifting sessions. See yourself. Improve your form. Become motivated by you. Forget pleasing others. Forget inspiring others. Inspire yourself. Be your best. And you’ll become THE best. Hope this helps someone 💛

Raise your hand if you read my North Korea diary in my book 🙋🏼‍♀️! The DPRK seems to be one of the most intriguing of countries, sparking interest and curiosity of all of the countries I’ve visited. I went in August of 2016, just over two years ago now. Traveling there felt like traveling to anywhere else in the world, with the exception of having to follow way more rules than I usually would. Oh, and paying much more than I ever would for a visa 😰. One side note I forgot to mention in my diary was, that my initial plan was to spend my 27th Birthday in Pyongyang. However, I had to keep pushing back the dates because of my budget. Can anyone relate to me for wanting to spend their birthday in North Korea? Let me know in the comments below 👇🏽🎈! For US Citizens, the visa cost me exactly $1,100 USD. Pictured, is my tour guide, Miss. Lee and I. She was from North Korea and was 24 years old at the time. She asked me out of the blue, “So, how is Hannah Montana doing? A previous tourist was telling me about her and showing me videos and I loved her!”. That in and of itself reiterated to me how much of the “outside world” their citizens are actually exposed to. She told me of the five different TV channels they have, most of which boast how to behave and act. When someone asked me the other day, “What was the most remote country you’ve visited?”, I thought of Nauru (a Sovereign Nation roughly 10 miles in circumference), but then I remembered that they had WiFi. I then came to the conclusion that it was indeed the DPRK; no cell reception, no WiFi, no GPS signal (wasn’t even allowed to bring my GPS into the country), and no phone to use to call the outside world. When you’re in, you’re in, and you’re completely at the mercy of that specific country. 🇰🇵 With all of that said, I felt that the full 3 days I spent there gave me a good idea of the culture and the country. It wasn’t as “fake” as everyone thinks, though they did take us to places they wanted us to see, but isn’t that true of any tour one goes on? I do have one other thing on my bucket list, and that is to go skiing at Masikryong Ski Resort. Maybe for my 30th… ⛷
