Cezve is a container specially designed for making Turkish coffee.
• In Algeria its name is: Djezoua, Ghalaïa or Thaghelayth (in Bèrbère).
• An authentic cezve Turkish coffee, or ibrik as it is known in the West – hammered copper, wooden handle.
A cezve is a pot designed specifically to make Turkish coffee. The body and the handle are traditionally made of brass or copper, sometimes also in silver or gold. However, recently cezve is also made of stainless steel, aluminum or ceramic. The long handle is especially useful to avoid burning hands, and the edge is designed to serve coffee.

The traditional Turkish coffee mug might look like any espresso cup but it must be straight. It should not be closer to the bottom like most espresso cups. Why ? Because if you like it creamy a straight cup will do it better.
If you want to fully enjoy a Turkish coffee, the traditional coffee maker called “Cezve” is the best. The “Cezve” is a metal coffee maker with a wide bottom and a large wooden handle. It consists of 2 different parts: the wide body of the coffee machine is used to brew the coffee, with a lot of cream – if you do not like the cream, it is better to use the second part narrower to prepare your coffee.
