“nothing to write home about” means that something is not special or exciting
تستعمل هذه العبارة لتقول عن شيئ بأنه : غير مميز ، عادي ، ليس ما توقعت
- We went to the new restaurant in town and it’s nothing to write home about.
“spill the beans” means to reveal information

- My sister spilled the beans, telling my parents I failed my math test before I had a chance to tell them.
“on the fly” means to do something without preparation
يقوم بشيئ ما بدون أن يستعد أو يتهيئ له
- I decided to enter the 5K race on the fly.
“join the club” means someone is experiencing something similar to someone else
هذه العبارة تقولها عندما يخبرك شخص أنه يعاني مع شيئ أو يشتكي من شيئ، فتقول : أنا أيضا نفس الشيئ ، نحن في الهوى سوى ، لذي نفس المشاكل.
- I told my friend I haven’t had time to clean my house the past month because my work schedule is so hectic and he said, join the club.
“get over yourself” means for someone to stop being self-centered and thinking they are more important than others.
تقول هذا التعبير لشخص مغرور يعتقد أنه الأفضل و المميز ليتوقف عن التصرف بذلك الشكل.
- She was mad the seamstress couldn’t alter her dress the day she bought it and I told her to get over herself and to realize the lady was busy with other clients.
